Buying tickets
Do I need an account to buy tickets?
No. You just give your name and email address when you book.
How do I get my tickets?
They're emailed to you as soon as you've paid, each with a QR code to show at the door, on your phone or printed. The email also has your booking reference and a link to view your tickets online.
My tickets haven't arrived. What should I do?
Check your junk or spam folder first. If they're not there, contact the organiser or hello@oninfive.live and we'll send them again.
I've lost my tickets. Can I still get in?
Yes. Give your booking reference or the name you booked under at the door, and the organiser can check you in. You can also open your tickets again from the link in your booking email.
Can I send some of my tickets to friends?
Yes. Open your tickets from the link in your booking email, tick the ones to send and share them by WhatsApp, text or email. Your friends get just those tickets and can arrive separately.
What is the booking fee?
A small flat fee per ticket (50p, £1.00 or £1.50 depending on the ticket price) that pays for the service. Depending on the organiser, it's added to the ticket price, shared, or paid by them. You always see the full price before you pay.
Is paying online safe?
Yes. Card payments are handled by Stripe, a leading payment provider. We never see or store your card details.
Can I get a refund if I can't go?
Tickets for a dated event aren't covered by the usual 14-day right to cancel. The organiser decides whether to refund you, so ask them by replying to your booking email. If they agree, the booking fee isn't refunded. Terms, B4
What if the event is cancelled or moved?
If it's cancelled you get a full refund, including the booking fee, automatically. If the date or venue changes your tickets stay valid, and if you can't make the new arrangements you can ask for a full refund before the event. Terms, B5
The event is sold out. Can I join a waiting list?
Yes. When an event is sold out, or tickets aren't on sale yet, you can join its waiting list on the event page. It's free. If tickets come up, everyone on the list is emailed a personal booking link at the same time, with 24 hours to book before general sale.
Organising events
What does OnInFive cost?
Joining is free. There's a flat booking fee per ticket sold online: 50p for tickets up to £10, £1.00 up to £25 and £1.50 up to £50 (for dearer tickets, ask us). Free tickets, and bookings you record yourself (cash, bank transfer or complimentary), have no fee. Card processing costs are covered by us.
Who pays the booking fee?
You choose, for each ticket type: the buyer (added to the ticket price), your group (taken from the ticket price), or half each. The fee is the same either way.
Who receives the ticket money, and when?
The ticket money is your group's. We hold it until after the event, then on the Monday after your event week we email a statement of every sale and pay the amount due straight to your group's bank account. We aim to pay within 5 working days of the statement, and always within 30 days of the event. Terms, C5
How do we get started?
Sign up with your group's name and email, and set up your events straight away. We check each new group before its first event goes on sale, and aim to approve within one working day. Then publish your event and share the link.
Can we sell tickets for cash, by bank transfer or on the door?
Yes. Record them as bookings in OnInFive, with no fee, so the same seats or places can't be sold twice. You can mark a booking as payment still to collect and you'll be reminded until it's paid. Buyers must still be able to book online for events with paid tickets. Terms, C4
Can we offer concessions, children's tickets or free tickets?
Yes. Add as many ticket types as you need, each with its own price and optional limit. Complimentary tickets can be added as free bookings.
Can buyers choose their seats?
Yes. Draw your venue's layout once, with tables or rows of seats, and reuse it for any event. Buyers pick their seats on a plan.
How do we check tickets at the door?
With any smartphone: no special equipment. Give your door volunteers the event's scanner link and PIN. They scan each QR code, or type a booking reference, and the scanner shows who's arrived.
What happens if we have to cancel or change our event?
Tell us straight away. If it's cancelled we refund ticket holders in full from the money we hold. If the date or venue changes, update the event and email your ticket holders from OnInFive; anyone who can't make it is entitled to a refund. Terms, C7
Can we contact our ticket holders?
Yes, about their event (a time change, parking, anything they need to know), in one click. You can only send news of your other events to people who agreed to hear about them, and your contacts list shows who has.
What reports do we get?
Booking lists, sales, a front-of-house door list, attendees, who sits where, daily sales and the waiting list, all printable or downloadable as a spreadsheet.
Can we promote events on our own website and social media?
Yes. Every event has its own page to share; links show your event's title and photo on Facebook and WhatsApp. Your events are also listed on our What's On page.
How do we get help?
Email hello@oninfive.live. A real person replies, usually within a few hours on working days. If you're stuck, we can look at your account with you and sort it out.
